Founded by Nina, Seeding Labs sends research tools that were being discarded in the U.S. to 22 developing nations. She has supported researchers developing treatments for tuberculosis and malaria, expanding access to clean drinking water, improving crops and more.

The awards were created by the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation and Harvard University’s Institute of Politics to honor Americans under age 40 who are changing their communities and the country with their commitment to public service.
